Gun on USS Ward that fired first US shots in WWII gets new home in Minnesota

The gun from the USS Ward, which fired the first US shots in World War II, is moving to the new Minnesota Military and Veterans Museum at Camp Ripley near Little Falls. It had been displayed outside the Minnesota State Capitol for 70 years and will be featured in the museum opening in September.
