Peers told to attend House of Lords more often — or get fired
The UK House of Lords may require peers to attend at least 20% of sitting days and retire by age 80 under proposed reforms. A cross-party committee, led by Labour peer Ann Taylor, suggested voluntary agreements to enforce changes without new legislation. Hereditary peers were expelled earlier this year, and Andy Burnham, set to become prime minister, faces challenges in implementing broader reforms.
