El Niño effect: Spices Board confirms dip in cardamom production in Idukki
The Spices Board has confirmed a decline in cardamom production in Idukki due to the El Niño effect. IMD data shows that the district received only 492 mm of rainfall by July 14, significantly below the normal 1,096.6 mm during the monsoon season.
