Fafnir the alligator is thriving nearly a year after her Belle Isle rescue — and she's grown a foot
Fafnir the American alligator, rescued from Belle Isle in October, has grown a foot since being relocated to the Great Lakes Serpentarium. She now shares her enclosure with four other rescued alligators and is thriving under the care of co-owner Kate Minnaar. The Michigan DNR confirmed the initial alligator sighting, and Fafnir's rescuer, Steve Hart, emphasized her survival was unlikely in the wild.
