Man dies after violent downtown Denver assault; suspect arrested minutes later

A man died in downtown Denver after being violently attacked with a large rock, and suspect Edgardo Jimenez-Alvarad was arrested minutes later. The assault occurred near the intersection of Larimer Street and Speer Boulevard, where police found the victim unconscious before he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Jimenez-Alvarad faces first-degree murder charges.
