Quetta split into two districts as Balochistan undergoes administrative restructuring
The Balochistan government has restructured administrative units, splitting Quetta district into East Quetta and West Quetta. The province now has 11 divisions and 41 districts, with changes including the detachment of Mastung from Kalat division and the creation of new sub-divisions like Brewery and Panjpai. Tribal leaders and Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani opposed the move, citing violations of the 1948 accession agreement.
