Kobalt yard tool batteries linked to smoking, sparking in a new recall

Over 500,000 Kobalt yard tools with 24-volt lithium-ion batteries are being recalled due to a fire hazard caused by charging via the USB-C port while the battery is inserted. The recall follows 34 reports of batteries smoking, sparking, or catching fire, though no injuries have been reported.
