Over half the cooling towers in NYC Legionnaires’ outbreak area issued violations in recent months: records

Over half of the water cooling towers in NYC's Upper East Side area linked to a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak received health violations between March 2025 and March 2026, according to records. The violations were issued during inspections of cooling centers in three zip codes under investigation.
