Rio Won’t Ban Airbnb. It Will Let Your Neighbours Vote on It
Rio de Janeiro will not ban Airbnb but will allow neighbors to vote on short-term rentals. Rental listings in Rio’s South Zone fell 27.5% in two years, with rents rising 17% overall and 50% in Copacabana. An earlier proposal would have banned short-term lets.
