A federal judge blocked Arizona’s elections rule prohibiting clothing deemed 'intimidating' or 'harassing' at polling places, citing vagueness in enforcement standards. The ruling, issued two weeks before the July 21 primary election, favored the Pima County Republican Party and The Oversight Project, who argued the rule violated free speech. The provision, part of Arizona’s Elections Procedures Manual, was drafted by Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and approved by Governor Katie Hobbs and Attorney General Kris Mayes.
