NYC’s child support cases moving faster through Family Courts; advocates tout reforms to speed up process
A 2025 report by Her Justice found that New York City’s Family Courts reduced wait times for child support orders, with Brooklyn’s average drop from 15 to four months due to a triage process. While NYC cases still take longer (6.7 months) than the rest of the state (2.8 months), Bronx and Queens also saw significant time reductions.
