Brazil Clears an Alleged Russian Spy’s Path Home. The US Objects
Brazil has cleared the path for an alleged Russian spy, Cherkasov, to return to Russia after expelling him under Portaria 6.737, which bars his return for 30 years. He was serving a five-year sentence for identity fraud, reduced from fifteen years. The US objects to this decision.
