UK must regulate lobbying after Mandelson scandal, ethics watchdog tells Burnham
The UK's Ethics and Integrity Commission (EIC) has called for new lobbying regulations following the Peter Mandelson scandal, urging Prime Minister-designate Andy Burnham to implement 37 recommendations to improve transparency. The EIC criticized the current system, under which only 4% of lobbying activity is captured, and proposed an expanded activity-based register to include public affairs professionals and think tanks.
