Assistant principal accused of shooting a gun during a school break-in charged, police say
An assistant principal in North Carolina, Charlie Wardell Smith, fired a gun during a school break-in at Hairston Middle School in Greensboro. He was charged with discharging a weapon on educational property and has resigned, with a court date set for July 28.
