North Miami Beach Police captain arrested, relieved of duty amid video voyeurism allegations

North Miami Beach Police Capt. Jose Maya was arrested on felony video voyeurism charges and has been relieved of duty pending criminal and internal investigations. Police Chief Juan Pinillos stated the allegations represent a serious breach of public trust, and the department is cooperating with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office. Maya is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
