Heavy rain leads to New Jersey store roof collapse as heat wave breaks

Heavy rain breaking a heat wave caused a roof collapse at a New Jersey BJ’s Wholesale Club, trapping two people briefly without injuries. Flooding affected parts of New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey, while officials investigated at least 29 possible heat-related deaths in New Jersey. Storms also led to power outages and a separate incident in Michigan where two children died from generator exhaust.
