China conducts ground test of hypersonic ramjet that can change shape in flight
China successfully tested a hypersonic ramjet engine capable of reshaping its internal airflow channel during operation, functioning continuously from Mach 1.8 to Mach 6. The engine used graphite to contain superheated gases, overcoming previous limitations where such engines could not ignite until Mach 4.
