New Zealand has seen a 40% increase in Chinese tourist arrivals after implementing a 12-month visa-exemption trial for visitors traveling from Australia. The trial, launched in November, exempts Chinese and Pacific people from visa requirements if they enter via Australia, according to Tourism Minister Louise Upston.
