New city program aims to preserve supportive housing for homeless and vulnerable New Yorkers

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development launched the Supportive Preservation Program (SPP) to preserve and strengthen supportive housing for vulnerable residents. The initiative includes a dedicated preservation team, expanded rental assistance eligibility, and rehabilitation of aging buildings like Park Avenue Thorpe, which provides housing and services for families experiencing homelessness.
