Trump's endorsement fails to save MAGA candidate as billionaire advances in key governor race
President Donald Trump's endorsement did not secure victory for Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in the Republican gubernatorial nomination runoff. Billionaire Rick Jackson, who spent over $100 million of his own money, defeated Jones and will face Democratic candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms in the general election. Jackson, inspired by Trump, emphasized his outsider business credentials and received support from Sen. Ted Cruz.
