Who Killed Deniz? Yew’s to Blame, Union Sez After Central Park Horse Drops Dead
A Central Park carriage horse named Deniz died after consuming toxic Japanese yew plants, according to a union representing carriage drivers. The Central Park Conservancy countered that park rules prohibit horses from eating vegetation and blamed the owner for negligence. The incident is the seventh horse-related incident in 13 months.
