Sidewalk being built on street considered unsafe for pedestrians, bicyclists in Hickory

A new sidewalk is being constructed on 12th Avenue Northwest in Hickory, which was deemed unsafe for pedestrians and bicyclists. The street closure is between Old Lenoir Road Northwest and 6th Street Northwest, with the sidewalk expected to be completed in a week.
