Odds increase for short-lived tropical storm this week

A tropical disturbance, remnants of Tropical Storm Cristina now labeled Invest 90L, may re-emerge off Texas' coast this week, with increasing odds of becoming the 2026 Atlantic season's first tropical storm (Arthur). Heavy rainfall and flooding risks are forecast for Texas, Louisiana, and surrounding regions, with up to 10+ inches of rain possible.
