Building renovation graft complaints spike 1.5 times after Tai Po fire: ICAC
Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) reported a 1.5-fold increase in corruption complaints related to building renovations in the first four months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, following public concern over bid-rigging after the Wang Fuk Court fire. In response, the ICAC doubled its investigators to 100 to address the surge in cases.
