Ukraine condemns ‘brutal’ Russian assault after Unesco heritage Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra is hit
A large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine killed five rescuers in Kharkiv and wounded at least 20 people in Kyiv, with strikes causing fires and damaging the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO heritage site. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko reported the casualties, noting a second strike killed rescuers fighting an earlier blaze.
