Pineville Police Chief Michael Hudgins announces retirement

Pineville Police Chief Michael Hudgins will retire on July 1 after 31 years in law enforcement, including 5.5 years with the Pineville Police Department. Assistant Chief Corey Copley has been named interim chief. The department reported a 35% reduction in crime since 2020 and maintained case clearance rates above the national average, along with implementing the Co-Responder Program for behavioral health integration.
