South Carolina GOP race to replace Nancy Mace heads to runoff

Jenny Honeycutt and Mark Smith advanced in a GOP primary to replace outgoing Rep. Nancy Mace in South Carolina, requiring a June 23 runoff as neither candidate secured over 50% of the vote. Mace, who voted to remove Kevin McCarthy in 2023 and advocated for cybersecurity and releasing the Epstein Files, announced her gubernatorial bid. The S.C. 01 district, held by Republicans since 1981, will hold a runoff between Honeycutt and Smith.
