Trump’s endorsement power faces another GOP test in South Carolina after Alan Wilson advances
President Donald Trump's endorsement influence in GOP primaries is being tested again in South Carolina as Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette and Attorney General Alan Wilson advance to the Republican gubernatorial runoff. Evette, Trump's preferred candidate, and Wilson will compete for the nomination to succeed term-limited Gov. Henry McMaster, with the runoff winner expected to be the general election favorite. Trump's endorsement of Evette followed similar support for Rep. Randy Feenstra in Iowa, where his candidate narrowly lost to Zach Lahn, backed by MAHA and Turning Point USA.
