Turkey advances historic Hejaz railway project with Saudi Arabia deal

Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed memorandums of understanding to expand railway cooperation, aiming to revive the historic Hejaz railway project connecting Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. The agreement includes plans for trial routes through Iraq and long-term extension to Oman and the Indian Ocean, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz.
