PM Shehbaz directs acceleration of DISCOs privatisation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the accelerated privatisation of three power distribution companies (DISCOs)—IESCO, GEPCO, and FESCO—with international roadshows planned to attract investors. He emphasized transparency and a regulatory framework post-privatisation. Separately, he acknowledged the Global Fund's role in combating TB, HIV/AIDS, and malaria, directing the formation of a joint working group on HIV/AIDS prevention.
