ICC chief prosecutor suspended pending decision by oversight body on sexual misconduct allegations

The International Criminal Court's chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, was suspended pending a decision by the Assembly of States Parties on allegations of sexual misconduct with a female aide. A UN investigation found evidence of nonconsensual contact, but a judicial panel deemed the findings inconclusive. Khan has denied the allegations and previously stepped down temporarily in May 2025.
