The Senate returned Rs1.436 billion to Pakistan's exchequer, exceeding its austerity target by 500% through cost-cutting measures like suspending procurement projects, reducing non-essential spending, and digitizing operations. Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani emphasized fiscal discipline, and the National Assembly Secretariat also saved Rs4.5 billion via austerity measures.
