Hundreds of calls to Colorado child abuse hotline from youth treatment centers go uninvestigated

In Colorado, 1,154 calls to the child abuse hotline from youth treatment centers over five years were mostly 'screened out' by child welfare officials, with only 89 investigations. The data, obtained after a Supreme Court ruling, revealed high rates of uninvestigated reports, including allegations of sexual assault and runaway incidents, with three centers accounting for 1,571 calls in three years.
