China sees record panda bond issuance in 2026 as foreign borrowers pile in
China’s panda bond issuance reached a record high in the first five months of 2026, with 14 bonds worth 26.64 billion yuan issued by 11 foreign entities. Foreign governments, international banks, and multinational companies drove the 246% year-on-year increase in issuance.
