Inside the 1920s-era hotel NYC is converting into affordable apartments

New York City is converting the Stewart Hotel into affordable apartments for low-income and formerly-homeless residents. The project, led by developer David Schwartz and nonprofit Breaking Ground, aims to create 550 units by 2029 using city and state subsidies, with financial support from Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, and the Low Income Investment Fund.
