Northwest suburban gas station canopy collapses for second time in 6 months

A gas station canopy in Cary collapsed for the second time in six months on Saturday, with no injuries reported. The Marathon gas station at 8 E. Main St. experienced the collapse, and authorities remain unaware of the cause. A previous collapse in December 2025 was attributed to damage from a summer storm and accumulating snow.
