Colorado's Austin Centers for Exceptional Students (The ACES) faces scrutiny and state sanctions after parents reported excessive use of restraints on students with autism and behavioral challenges. The school, part of a new state initiative to expand specialized day schools, is now under a corrective action plan as districts withdraw students over concerns about safety and treatment methods.
