Arlington Sheraton to be imploded Saturday to make way for Americana by Lowes hotel

The 19-story Sheraton Arlington hotel in Arlington’s Entertainment District will be imploded on June 6, 2025, to make way for Americana by Loews, a new 507-room hotel expected to open in late 2028 or early 2029. The Sheraton, built in 1984, permanently closed in February 2025 for demolition preparations, with construction on the new hotel set to begin this summer.
