Woman Killed At Busy NW Side Intersection Where Planned Traffic Light Was Never Installed

A 62-year-old mother of three from Skokie, Illeana Crisanto, was killed at the intersection of Belmont and Kilbourn avenues after a driver failed to yield. Local officials and residents had long advocated for a traffic light at the site, which remains uninstalled despite years of delays. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled her death an accident caused by multiple injuries from the collision.
