Google’s Phone app will tell you if a scammer is impersonating one of your contacts

Google is launching a new feature in its Phone app to flag AI impersonation scams by detecting suspicious calls that appear to come from a user's contacts. The update addresses a growing threat, with the FBI reporting Americans lost over $893 million to such scams in 2025.
