15-year-old arrested in connection to 2025 kidnapping, sexual battery of girl in Overtown

A 15-year-old has been arrested and charged with sexual battery and false imprisonment in connection to a 2025 kidnapping and assault of a girl in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood. The suspect, Xavier Tyson, is being held without bond and faces three felony charges, with an arraignment scheduled for Wednesday. Detectives reported that a group of boys assaulted the victim in June 2025, with Tyson allegedly restraining her and pulling down her shirt.
