Deputy shooting follows hourslong standoff with armed, barricaded man in Oakland Park

A deputy-involved shooting occurred in Oakland Park after Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies engaged in an hourslong standoff with an armed man barricaded in an apartment. The suspect was transported to a hospital for treatment, no other injuries were reported, and investigations by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and BSO’s Internal Affairs Unit are ongoing.
