Rabid bat discovered near Fremont sidewalk

A rabid bat was discovered near a sidewalk in Palo Verde Common, South Fremont. The Fremont Police Department and Alameda County Vector Control confirmed the bat was collected on May 26 and posed a risk to pedestrians and animals.
