Small plane crashes on psychiatric hospital campus near North Perry Airport; 2 hospitalized

A small plane crashed on the campus of South Florida State Hospital near North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, injuring two women who were hospitalized. The Cessna 172P, registered to Blue Sky Aviation and operated by Pembroke Pines Commissioner Jay Schwartz, experienced engine failure before the crash. Pembroke Pines Mayor Angelo Castillo criticized the frequency of such incidents at the airport.
