Trump order limiting voting by mail will stand for now, federal judge rules

A federal judge declined to block President Donald Trump’s executive order restricting mail-in voting, allowing it to remain in effect for now. The order directs the Postal Service to propose rules blocking states from sending mail ballots except to voters on state-provided lists and instructs the Department of Homeland Security to compile voter lists with the Social Security Administration. The judge ruled that challenges to the directive are premature, as its implementation has not yet occurred.
