Homes needed for 18 dogs rescued from illegal dog fighting operation

Eighteen dogs, including 15 pitbull mixes and three rottweilers, were rescued from an illegal dog fighting operation in Kankakee County. A man was charged with 22 felony counts, including 18 related to dog fighting, and a second individual was charged with fentanyl-related offenses. The dogs, found with severe injuries and scars, are being cared for by animal control and will be transferred to rescue partners.
