Ex‑Federal Finance Director Sentenced for Kickback Scheme Steering $600,000 in Contracts to a Friend

Mathieu Zahui, former Director of Financial Management at the U.S. African Development Foundation, was sentenced to four months in prison for a multi-year kickback scheme involving steering $600,000 in federal contracts to a friend's company, accepting cash payments, and lying to investigators. The case was announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.
