Panama encourages dialogue and bridge-building at UN as canal tensions with China simmer

Panama's foreign minister urged dialogue over confrontation at a UN Security Council debate chaired by China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, as bilateral tensions between Panama and China over the Panama Canal reach their worst since 2017. China, holding the Security Council's rotating presidency in May, convened the high-level open debate.
