Florida deputies solved a decade-old murder case of Saadyar 'Sy' Johnson, who was shot in 2016, using new DNA evidence and previously unknown witnesses. Marqui Newton, 34, was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm in 2026 after years of investigative work by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit.
