A report by the Center for Union Facts found that California nursing homes with unionized staff received lower federal quality ratings compared to non-union facilities, with unionized homes averaging 3.02 stars versus 3.17 for non-union. The study, which controlled for income, linked unionization to a 0.3-star rating decrease and called for scrutiny of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) due to past allegations of internal issues.
